Profound: Post-Treatment Instructions:
- Immediately after treatment, most patients will have some redness and swelling. This will resolve within 1 or 2 days. The puncture sites from the anesthesia and the procedure will be visible for 2-4 days. Most patients will have some degree of bruising for several days to a week.
- Before discharge a topical petroleum-based occlusive barrier will be applied to the face. No bandages or wraps are necessary.
- Clean the area twice daily with a gentle cleanser and water. A petroleum-based occlusive barrier can be applied the day after treatment. After that, a simple moisturizer should be used daily.
- No makeup for 2-3 days, until the puncture sites have healed.
- No hot showers for 24 hours. Treat the skin gently, do not scrub or pick treated area.
- Discomfort is generally mild. Ibuprofen (400-600 mg every 6 hours) or acetaminophen (1000 mg every 6 hours) can be used as needed.
