Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal: Pre-Treatment Instructions:

Shave the area being treated approximately 24 hours prior to treatment.

Avoid sun exposure on the area being treated. (We cannot treat you if the area is tan).
- Avoid waxing/threading/tweezing/and depilatory creams for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment.
- Come to appointment with clean skin, free of makeup (if treating face), deodorant (if treating underarms), or any skin care products.
- Take any prophylactic medication as prescribed (Valtrex, antibiotics)
Laser Hair Removal: Post-Treatment Instructions:
- Immediately after treatment there will likely be some redness and swelling around the hair follicle (tiny bumps on the skin) as well as mild discomfort. You can use aloe or cool packs as needed.
- Avoid rubbing or picking the area immediately post treatment.
- Avoid harsh exfoliants for the first 3 days post treatment.
- If crusting or blistering develops you may apply Vaseline twice daily and please call the office for further instructions.
- Avoid sun exposure on the treated area for at least 2 weeks. Be sure to use a broadspectrum SPF.
Things to keep in mind:
- Any remaining hair that was not “vaporized” during treatment will fall out over about the next 2 weeks. It may look like it is growing right away, but this is shedding. You may shave this if you wish. Once the shedding is complete, you may be without hair for about 2 weeks.
- If areas are not shaved prior to you appointment, we may not be able to treat. Having hair in the treatment area increases the risk of burns as well as discomfort.
- Laser hair removal cannot be done over any tattoos.
- If you have any tan at all, we will not be able to treat you. You will need to wait until tan is completely gone for your next treatment.
